New event brings together senior firm executives to discuss critical issues facing the investment adviser industry

August 8, 2022 (Washington, D.C.) Showcasing prominent voices in both the investment adviser industry and the political stage, the Investment Adviser Association (IAA) is hosting its inaugural IAA Policy & Leadership Forum, September 28-30, 2022, in Washington, D.C.

The Policy & Leadership Forum is designed to bring together CEOs and senior industry executives to address key challenges affecting the economic environment. Featuring a range of renowned industry and political thought leaders, including SEC Chair Gary Gensler; Morgan Stanley Investment Management Chair Tom Faust; MFS Investment Management President Carol Geremia; Amy Walter, publisher and editor-in-chief of The Cook Political Report with Amy Walter; and U.S. Congressman Jim Himes, the conference offers candid, in-depth discussions of the most pressing issues and challenges firm leaders are facing today.

“Our industry is in a pivotal moment,” said IAA President and CEO Karen Barr. “The IAA Policy & Leadership Forum was designed by industry leaders for industry leaders to address critical policy issues, share best practices, and explore potential “silver-lining” opportunities presented by the current environment.”

The Policy & Leadership Forum is a unique blend of policy, politics, and leadership featuring the following sessions:

  • View from the C-Suite
  • Straight Talk from Inside the Beltway
  • Confronting the Retirement Savings Gap
  • Report from the Hill – Crucial Insights for Advisers
  • Understanding Emerging Talent: Insights about Millennials and Gen Z

Additionally, IAA will take members to Capitol Hill for Adviser Advocacy Day on September 29 to meet with legislators.

“We are excited that for the first time since the pandemic we’ll be back on Capitol Hill for an energizing day of appointments,” said IAA Vice President, Government Relations Neil Simon. “IAA and its members are ready to educate legislators on the importance of our industry to investors, the capital markets, the economy, and their constituents.”
