IAA Registration FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
Thank you for your interest in the IAA's Events. Below are some frequently asked questions regarding our online event registration. If you have any questions not covered here, please contact the IAA at email@example.com or (202) 293-4222.
FAQ1: Can I register on paper?
Yes; to request a paper form please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the IAA office at (202) 293-4222. However, we strongly encourage online registration if you are planning to pay by credit card.
FAQ2: How do I register a guest/coworker for an IAA event?
IAA online registration is designed to register the user who is logged in. To ensure a correct registration, the preferred methods to register another person are to either (1) use her/his login information (email address and password) to log yourself in as that person or (2) to have that person register her/himself.
If the preferred methods are not an option, you can register another person while using your login. To do this, amend the personal information under “Badge Information” on the “Event Registration” page to state the name of the actual registrant (all other information will populate with your personal information). IAA staff will then move this registration from your account to the person whose name you entered under “Badge Information.”
FAQ3: Can I register myself for two events at once?
No; registrations for different events must be processed separately.
FAQ4: How do I cancel my registration or substitute another person for my registration?
At this time, event cancelations and substitutions can only be done by written request to email@example.com subject to the limitations provided on the event description page. Please include your contact information and the name of the event which you are cancelling.
FAQ5: Can I receive an invoice before I register?
You can request a paper registration form by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling the IAA office at (202) 293-4222.
FAQ6: Why am I receiving a red-text error message?
This is most often caused when a required registration element (any item in bold or labeled as required) is not filled in. If adding information for all required elements and trying to proceed does not remove the error message, please contact the IAA at email@example.com or (202) 293-4222.
FAQ7: Why am I receiving a duplicate registration warning?
This warning displays when one registration for your username has already been processed for the applicable event. If you are not trying to register another person (see FAQ2), then please contact the IAA at firstname.lastname@example.org or (202) 293-4222.
FAQ8: Why am I not receiving a discount rate?
If your discount rate requires a discount code, then you can receive the discount by adding the applicable code in the discount field of the “Shopping Cart” page. The same discount code can only be applied once in a shopping cart; for multiple registrations using the same discount code, each registration needs to be processed separately.

FAQ9: How do I pay by Check?
Payments by check currently cannot be processed online. Please send check payments along with a print out of your completed "Event Registration" page to: Investment Adviser Association; 1050 17th St., NW, Ste. 725; Washington, DC 20036-5514. Check payments should be received by the IAA before the event to ensure your registration is processed.
