About the Presenters


Sonia Kowal is Zevin Asset Management's President with responsibility for corporate matters, business practices, strategic planning, and marketing. She is also a member of the firm's investment committee where she incorporates sustainability issues into investment decision making and oversees Zevin’s shareholder advocacy work as well as the integration of environmental and social issues into the investment process. Previously, Sonia headed Ethical Investment Research Services' (EIRIS) US office and was a Portfolio Manager and Investment Research Analyst at Baillie Gifford in Scotland. Sonia holds a BS in Zoology from the University of Edinburgh and an MS in Investment Analysis from the University of Stirling, Scotland.

Lisa Hayles is a Consultant at Boston Common Asset Management. Previously, she was head of Client Services (North America) for EIRIS, a non-profit ESG research firm headquartered in London. At EIRIS, Lisa assisted institutional fund managers and pension funds to implement a variety of Responsible Investment strategies. Lisa's prior work experience includes Assistant Director of the Social Investment Organization in Toronto, Canada, as well as research and consulting assignments at the UNDP in Jamaica and the Ontario Women's Directorate. Lisa holds degrees from the University of Toronto (BA honors), University of Guelph (International Development), and the Sorbonne (French Language certificate).
 

Robert M. Wilson, Jr. is an Investment Officer and Research Analyst at MFS Investment Management® (MFS®). His primary role involves working with the firm's analysts and portfolio managers to integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues into the investment decision-making process. Rob is also responsible for developing thought leadership regarding the role that ESG integration should play in a long-term investment process. Rob joined MFS in 2013 after six years with American Century, where he most recently served as a senior equity analyst. Rob earned a B.S. in business administration from Boston University and a M.B.A. from the University of Chicago..
