The IAA’s 2017 View for the C-Suite featured two person-in-the-street videos – one testing the average investor’s knowledge of the fiduciary duty and the other exploring where the average financial services consumer goes for investment advice. The conference also featured Ted-style Talks on issues related to hiring, retaining and inspiring younger employees. Those videos are featured below.

Erica Williams is now a partner in the Government, Regulatory & Investigations Group at the law firm Kirkland & Ellis LLP – after serving as a Special Assistant to President Barack Obama and Deputy Chief of Staff to three SEC Chairs. At the Investment Adviser Association's 2017 Leadership Conference in Chicago, Erica offered her perspective on diversity and inclusion in the workplace -- specifically in the investment adviser workplace. Erica was introduced Julie Vander Weele of Chicago’s RMB Capital Management, who serves on the IAA Board of Governors.

Building an effective 21st century workforce was a major theme at the Investment Adviser Association's 2017 Leadership Conference. One of the financial sector's most successful millenials - Jilliene Helman - educated the C-Suite executives attending the conference about how millenials differ from other generations of employees in their expectations and goals. Helman earned her first million dollars at an early age and is founder and CEO of Mogul Realty.
